Following an acute and sudden illness Louise Marie Hill, at age 85, was taken from our mist to be with her creator on September 5, 2023. She slipped peacefully away without anguish while under hospice care in her home in Midwest City, OK, with her husband Isiah “Ike” Hill, and daughter, Anita Hill, by her side.
She was a strong, resolute Christian who love God, family, and life immensely. Lu was baptized into the Church of Christ faith at an early age. Up until the day she was called home to be with the Lord, she was a faithful member of the Loving Saint James Baptist Church, Spencer, OK, under the pastorship of Reverend Edward E. White.
She held service to God and family her highest priority, in that order. Over her life span of church work and worship attendance, she sang in the choir, taught youth Sunday School, served as Young Adult Women’s group counselor/mentor, deaconess, and encourager to many.
Louise was born January 17, 1938, in the grand ole town of Duncan, OK, to the parents of Lela and Standard Graham. She spent her adolescent years growing up in Watonga, OK, attending Dunbar High School there. With her charismatic personality, she won football queen of her school during her junior year.
Louise (Lu) met the love of her life, Isiah (Ike), in the spring of 1961. After a warm but short courtship, they exchanged marriage vows on November 17, 1961. They were inseparable soulmates up until her very last breath was taken on that serene, but dreadful September morning 2023. They were happily united for just shy of 62 years.
Lu’s and Ike’s children were their pride and joy. The family was blessed to have had wonderful tours of military duty to Japan, Colorado Springs, and Germany.
finally landing in greater OKC at Tinker AFB, whereat Ike retired after 23 years of military service.
Besides being a wonderfully proud homemaker and family watchperson, Lu worked outside of the home at various jobs for many years, earning numerous well deserving awards honoring her dedication and customer service attributes.
She loved people and had a soft spot for the family’s furry friend, Whitney, for which she treated like the valuable family member she was.
Louise will be sorely missed for her unwavering compassion and love for people with her captivating personality. We will remember hearing her saying “… love you more, God bless …” when she finished talking on the phone with family members and friends.
Louise Marie was preceded in death by her two sons Robert L. Hill and Isiah Hill, Jr., and is survived by her husband Isiah “Ike” Hill and daughter Anita L. Hill, both of Midwest City, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. James Baptist Church, 12600 Parker Heights Blvd., Spencer, OK 73084.
A visitation for Louise will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
