Lillie Pearl Treat Ashley passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018. Born on July 12, 1928, in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Frank Monroe and Cecil Cornelia Curnutt Treat, she was one of seven children. Lillie married James Nelson Ashley on September 11, 1943, and they were married for 63 wonderful years. Eventually they had a big family of their own and had six beautiful children. Her love and support of the family was her greatest achievement and among her excellent skills as a mother, Lillie also found passion in sewing clothes and quilts. Her proudest moments in full life were when her children and grand-children earned their high school diplomas and college degrees. Lillie was a loving mother, grand-mother, great grand-mother, and great great grand-mother, who loved life and whose legacy will live on through all the lives that she’s touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cecil Treat; her brothers, Monroe Treat, James Treat, and Earl Treat; her sisters, Alta Treat, Nettie Treat Riggs, Aria Treat Northcutt, and Bernice Treat Eaton; and son-in-laws, Forrest Wayne Johnson, and Jim Clay.
Lillie is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann Ashley Johnson of Oklahoma City, Hazel June Ashley Reeves and husband, Jim of Moore, Gloria Lynn Ashley Clay of Oklahoma City, and Phyllis Gayle Ashley Lacer and husband, Stan of Newcastle; sons, Boyd Wayne Ashley and wife Michelle of Mannford, and Bruce Doyle Ashley of Okemah; and eight grand-children, seventeen great grand-children, and three great great grandchildren.
