Lillian “Estelle” Cox, 94, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away April 10, 2015. She was born June 4, 1920 in Wayne, Oklahoma to Will E. and Verlie Francis (Williams) McClure. Estelle graduated Valedictorian from her high school and was offered a basketball scholarship to college. She declined the invitation, but it was a big accomplishment that she was very proud of. Estelle married Lono Cox and the two raised 3 daughters. Lono was often away for work and the family spent a lot of time traveling on the weekends to see him at his jobsites. Estelle would pack up the kids and the car and drive all over Oklahoma to spend time with him. Later, Estelle and Lono did more traveling together. She enjoyed the trips when they were her idea and in later years, the grandchildren would at times accompany them. They will have many memories of trips to Galveston, Mexico and other places with her. She loved gospel music and flowers and plants. Estelle had a bit of a green thumb and could grow them all. Estelle had a wonderful life and was loved by all. She is survived by her daughters, Lonnia York, Paulia Randolph, and Donnia West and her husband Charley, 11 grandchildren; many, many great grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Shirley Pickard and her husband David. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 grandchildren and her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial to follow at Dale Cemetery.
