Leslie Davis, Jr., 82, of Luther, OK passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014. He was born May 20, 1932 in Lindsay, OK to John Leslie and Nettie Lee Davis. Les retired from Oklahoma Farm Bureau after 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking photos of wildlife, especially the animals that routinely came to visit him in his yard, sitting on the back porch visiting with friends and yard work. He also was a handy builder and made many chairs that grace the porch at his and Judy’s home, breadboxes and cabinets and bookshelves for their home. He and his best friend Brian also got a kick out of aggravating Judy and their friend Ruby when they would get together to visit and play games. As a young man, Les got the idea that he wanted to be a boxer and spent much time at the gym training and preparing. When his chance finally arrived, two fights were arranged and fought. After getting worked over both times, he quickly decided that a new career was in order. Les is survived by his wife, Judy E. Davis; son, Mike Davis and wife Kathy; daughter, Patty Gillean ; stepdaughters, Judina Freeman and husband C.A., Carol Welch and husband Roy, Julie Fill and husband Bill; stepsons, Jerry Duncan, Charles Gray and wife Lori, and James Spears; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford Davis, Billy Davis, and Jimmy Davis and wife Alice as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
