Laurel Jolene (Hayden) Oleson

Born In Oswego, NY in 1959 to Howard Haywood & Evelyn Gertrude Hayden. Her family later moved to Michigan in 1960. She graduated from Morley Stanwood High School in 1977. She was an Auditor for Caberfae Peaks Resort in Cadillac Michigan and a Mail Carrier for Manton Post Office for many years.

Her and her husband Jim moved to Oklahoma in 2011 and became devoted members of Bible Baptist Church of Nicoma Park. She enjoyed and was very involved in kid’s ministries and visitation. She loved her dogs Pyper and Rayne deeply. She enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends, and she had a great love for frogs. She will be remembered for her faithfulness, kindness, selflessness, her contagious laughter, and a fighter of life. She was very proud of and involved with her large family.

She is survived by two sons Aaron Oleson of Grand Rapids, MI and Mark Oleson of Edmond, OK; 4 stepchildren Cheryl Thomas, James H. Oleson, Michael Oleson, Christina Squires, and 18 grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers Neal, Darrell, and Terrell Hayden & 1 sister Gael Glerum; and her over 90 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Oleson, parents Haywood & Evelyn Hayden, and 2 brothers Carroll Hayden, and Paul Hayden.

The funeral service will be held on September 24th at Emmanuel Baptist church in Coral, MI with internment at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley, MI. Viewing will be held from 2-8 pm at Advantage Funeral Home in Oklahoma City September 9th.
