Laura Lee Baker, age 52, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Tuscany Village Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. She was born December 20, 1966, in Atlanta, Georgia to Geraldine (Gerri) Hancock and Martin (Marty) Hancock. Laura grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, spending her free time involved in drill team and choir. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. While there, she affiliated with the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and was an avid member. After graduation, Laura moved to Dallas where she started her career as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, which she loved wholeheartedly. While in Dallas she also was a member of the Plano Junior League and worked at the apparel mart, always having a great love for fashion. She often indulged in the things she loved, rather it be Mexican food or a rock concert. Laura was a social butterfly who never met a soul that didn’t adore her. She lived the life she was given to the fullest, always with a smile on her face. Laura is survived by her daughter, Alexa Baker; her father; her brother, Matt Hancock; and many other cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is predeceased by her mother; uncle, Tom Murphy; and grandparents. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association in Laura’s honor.
