LaMeda was born on her family farm in Rocky Oklahoma to Henry and Mattie Witcher.
She was the oldest of 5 Children, Eleanor, LeeRoy, Harold and Travis. LaMeda's
Organized leader traits were learned early as the ringleader of 4 younger siblings.
She was an excellent student at Rocky High School where she enjoyed participating in the School plays. She attended Junior College and excelled in clerical skills to use in her career as a secretary.
November 2, 1941 she married the Love of her life Glen Bacon. It was War World II and Glen enlisted in The Navy as a medic. She followed Glen to California until he was deployed to The Philippines. Her Brother LeeRoy was sadly lost to the war.
After the war LaMeda and Glen made Wichita Falls Texas their home, their first child Sandy was born there. Later Glen's career in Insurance brought them to Oklahoma City where their other daughter MaryAnn was born.
LaMeda and Glen enjoyed square dancing, friends and being involved in the Episcopal Church, spending time at their Lake property and family life with their daughters and grandson.
Glen died September 5, 1987 and working through her grief LaMeda stayed busy with her girls and grandson and volunteering with Saint George's Guild ,Salvation Army and
The Pioneers.
She was blessed with many good friends and enjoyed attending plays, the Pops and playing cards.
She was dedicated to her family and cared for her mother Mattie Witcher. She adored
Her grandson Brad Crawford and great granddaughter Adriann Crawford.
She and her daughters enjoyed many activities such as travel, OU Football, Holidays and
Always happy hour of scotch and water or a glass of wine, even in her twilight years, she would enjoy a glass of wine with Sandy and MaryAnn.
LaMeda was always a Lady and is one of the last of The Greatest Generation

Grandson and Wife Brad and Dawn Crawford
Great Granddaughter Adriann Crawford
