Kimberly Barnes White was born on November 8, 1962, to Darrell and Ginger Barnes in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She died suddenly and unexpectedly from a bacterial infection on August 26, 2016. She graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Oklahoma State University, where she was an Alpha Chi Omega. Kim met the love of her life, Joe E. White, Jr., and they married on July 21, 1985, after a whirlwind romance. After Joe graduated from OU Law School, they moved to Edmond, OK, where they have lived for twenty-eight years. Together they have five children. Her children were everything to her. Kim is survived by her husband, Joe E. White, Jr.; son Joe E. White, III (Abbey Philbrick) of Nashville, TN ; son Jackson B. White of Edmond, OK; daughter Jade Holly White (Nick Porter) of Edmond, OK; daughter Jule Mechelle White of Oklahoma City, OK; and daughter Jilian Nicole White of the home. She is also survived by her father Darrell W. Barnes of Shawnee, OK, her mother Ginger Barnes (Mike Thompson) of Edmond and Ardmore, OK; her sister and brother-in-law, Kari Sue and Eric Thornton, and their children Piper and Cutler, of Shawnee, OK; her father–in-law, Dr. Joe E. White, Sr.; and her brother–in-law, Vance King White, of Los Angeles, CA, and many other family and friends.
Kim’s greatest thrill was watching her children perform in their various activities. She had a great love for all animals. Kim was the “Recycle Nazi." If you dared to put anything in the trash that should be in the recycle bin you would receive a tongue-lashing! She was a lifelong Democrat and championed liberal causes. She was a great cook and loved nothing better than preparing wonderful meals for her family, particularly chicken fried steak, fried pork chops, and her world famous spaghetti sauce. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Open a wonderful bottle of wine, cook your favorite meal for your family, and remember Kim.
