Kenneth Vern Coplin, long-time resident of Piedmont, OK, passed away peacefully April 20th, 2024 at 88 years of age. Ken was born January 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma to Garfield Paul Coplin and Margie Milton (Underhill) Coplin. He married the love of his life, Sue Coplin, in 1956. He secretly loved people and always found ways to fill a room with laugher until the very end.
Ken worked in a number of fields including behind the camera at WKY, but it was as a pilot that he found his life's calling. He logged thousands of flight hours and as a flight examiner issued over four thousand pilot licenses. He was a loving father and grandfather, raising four boys.
Ken is survived by two sons, Max Andrew (Dorothy) and James Paul (Teri), three grandchildren, James Albert, Mackenzie Allison-Marie, Keegan Robert, and two great-grandsons, Ian Christopher and Elliot Daniel. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, oldest son, Daniel Wayne, parents, and brother Paul Aubrey.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Piedmont First Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK.
