In his wake he left many to prosper as his spirit touched all he contacted. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Bonar of Edmond, Oklahoma; his sister,
Shirley Spahr and husband Roger of Elm Grove, Wisconsin; his children, Larry Sellers of Yerington, Nevada, Olin Sellers of Sacramento, California, Edward Bonar and wife Rebecca of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Cheryl Beard and husband Mike of Hornersville, Missouri and Christine Oakes and husband Don of Edmond, Oklahoma; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was born April 25, 1929, in Douglas, Arizona. He served his country for 25 years in the United States Army. His career spanned through the Japanese Occupation, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was First Sergeant of the renowned "Big Red One". He retired at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8).
He settled in Edmond, Oklahoma, and was known as the "Oklahoma Refugee." However, he was not a refugee for long. He quickly found his way into the hearts of the Edmond and Guthrie communities. It is hard for many to think of him as anything but a fixture in the community.
He was the ultimate handyman. He has always said there wasn't a tool he didn't like. Thankfully for us, God gave him the skill to use each and every one of them. There wasn't a project too big or small for him to accomplish. He could fix anything from his El Camino to one of his children's broken hearts.
He loved God, his family, his children and his pets. He was a terrific gardener and would often say, "I love to watch things grow".
Nothing can take away what he gave to us. We must all move forward as he would have wanted us to with love, honor and by living righteous lives.
As the sun sets on his life, we rejoice his life and know he is in God's hands.
Arrangements under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, Oklahoma City, OK.
