Keiko McLaughlin , 85 year old resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away September 26, 2015. Born November 24, 1929 in Totsuka-Machi, Toyotama-Gun, Japan, she was the daughter of Chuji Takakuwa and Yoshiko Takakuwa. Keiko was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a selfless caretaker who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a very strong woman, who had to help care for her siblings during the war. She then raised her own family, followed by always sharing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also very devoted to her believes and her SGI Buddhist family.
Mrs. McLaughlin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bruce McLaughlin; a daughter, Jo Ann McGuffin, and one sister.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Renate McLaughlin of Moore, OK; one sister, Teruko Hirakawa of Akita-Shi, Japan; six grandchildren, Sara Parker, Amber Thomas, Michael McClung, Chris Peacock-McLaughlin, Megan Cunningham, and Kathleen Zalumbide; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsie, Alyssa, Emily, Kiera, Colton, Kaylei, Alex, Kinsley, Belle, Aryella, Jane, and Wells; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held 3:00PM, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the SGI Community Center, 817 NW 12th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
