Elizabeth Kathleen Garrett Willard, a leader in the entertainment industry and former Chief Financial Officer of Live Nation Entertainment, passed away on April 8th, 2024 at age 57. She leaves not only an indelible and inclusive stamp on the world of live entertainment, but still more her love for her family and friends.
Born in Oklahoma City as the youngest child of Tom and Elizabeth Garrett, she graduated from Northwest Classen High School as a Classen Medal of Honor recipient and from the University of Oklahoma as Outstanding Senior Woman. Achievement was a key to her career, but her values were formed at home and fostered in her church.
Kathy was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity. She touched the lives of many with her compassion and loyalty. Her legacy will live on in the world of entertainment, and her memory will be cherished by her colleagues, her family and friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Elizabeth Rimmer Garrett, her brothers Bruce (and daughter Allie Riddick), Keith (and wife Gayle), Paul (Katelyn and Kyle), and John (wife Sherrie, Dashiell, Taylor, Sierra & Alexis, and Lariah), Kathy’s stepson Jared (wife Claudia, Maximilian and Samantha), her church sisters and her sisters in spirit, including Connie Austin, Mary Cochran, Kim Garrett and Stacey Willard, along with her many cousins and a multitude of friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's remarkable life will be held at 1:00 pm on April 23, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kathy Garrett Scholarship in Accounting at OU’s Business School (https://give.oufoundation.org/KathyGarrett) or the Kathy Garrett ALS Research Fund at Mass General (https://giving.massgeneral.org/donate/kathy-garrett), or to another charity in Kathy's memory.
