Kathryn Keller Powell, 85, passed away Monday, January 11th. Born September 15, 1935, in Oklahoma City. Kathryn attended Nichols Hills Elementary, Casady School and Wellesley College, receiving her degree in psychology. Kathryn was one of the earliest members of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church and was very active for years in the Junior League, the Casady Alumni Association and the Joie De Vie Dance Club. She had a successful career in real estate for several years with her sister-in-law, Marilyn Keller. After his retirement, she and her husband Hartley founded and operated Powell Floorcovering. Kathryn was a great story teller with a fantastic sense of humor.
She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a friend to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.D. Hartley Powell, Jr; her parents Dr. W.F. and Kate Keller; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Dan F. and Marilyn Keller. She is survived by her three children: Keller Powell, B.D. Hartley Powell III, and Marchant Powell; four grandchildren; Kathryn Roper, Laura Roper, Harrison Powell and Caroline Powell; and two great-grandchildren; Adalay Gilbert and Mila McCloude.
Visitation will be held 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 18th at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
