J. was a handy man in every sense of the word. If something needed fixing, he was the man to go to. He had tools for every job imaginable. His children and their friends could often be found in the garage, or “bike shop”, fixing and/or cleaning their bikes. His grandchildren lovingly called him “Papa Fix It”. J. was also a huge part of the racing circuit at the Oklahoma City Fair Grounds. He was in charge of the pits, and, as he would jokingly say, the trophy girls as well.
He was generous to everyone he knew and even those he didn’t. He had a truly giving heart and would give you the shirt off of his back without you needing to ask. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone and always had a smile on his face.
J. was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will forever be remembered for his generosity and kindness, his dry sense of humor, his terrible (but usually funny) puns and plays on words, and the love he had for his family. His unexpected passing will forever take its toll on his family, friends, and every life that he touched. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Teresa Wells; son, Leslie Lloyd Wells; step-daughter, Ronda Kay Brainard; step-son, Terry Wayne Moser; step-daughter, Joanna Ruth Owens; step-daughter, Sarah Donelle Lawhead; brother, Marvin Carrol Wells; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
