Joseph "Jay" Thomas Acquaviva, Jr.

Joseph Thomas Acquaviva, Jr. (Jay) passed away peacefully with his beloved wife, Amy and much loved dog, Lily by his side on September 11, 2024. Jay was born on May 25, 1959 in Terrence Heights in Queens, New York. His parents were Joseph and May Acquaviva. They had two children-Deborah (Debbie) and Jay. He was known for his hard work, outstanding character and vast knowledge of the law.

Jay graduated from Deer Park high school in 1977. He worked at American Airlines at LaGuardia airport while he completed degrees at Suffolk County community college and CW Post College in business and accounting.

In 1986 Jay moved to Oklahoma City to attend OCU’s law school. In his professional life, Jay worked in insurance defense. He was a partner at Wilson, Cain and Acquaviva, starting in that office in 1993.

Jay was the proud father of Joseph (Joseph Thomas, III) and James.

Jay married Amy L. Loughridge on December 26, 2006 at Crown Heights, United Methodist Church. His life with Amy was filled with love and laughter. Their love and devotion to each other was unrivaled and unparalleled.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Amy of Edmond, sons Joseph and wife, Lauren, granddaughter Eleanor (of Oklahoma City) and James (Edmond), sister, Debbie and husband, Lester, and niece Erica of Deer Park, New York. Jay joins his parents and beloved dog Ella in eternal peace.

How can I forget you? You are the source of a thousand memories. You are part of my sacred story, an inspiration to be followed for as long as I can breathe. How can I ever forget you? I cannot and never will. You are as close as my shadow, as near and my heartbeat. You are the reason memory lasts: that I may learn again and again the deep lessons of love.

A memorial service for Jay will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034 with a reception to follow.
