Joe B. Fowler, Jr., 84 year-old resident of Spencer, Oklahoma, passed away January 14, 2012. He was born to Joseph Benjamin Fowler, Sr. and Lucy (Davis) Fowler on February 23, 1927 in Wewoka, OK. Joe worked in house construction as a carpenter. He enjoyed building things, fishing, being active in the Gospel Tabernacle Church activities, and playing music with various string instruments. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Martha Fowler; 2 step-sons, Tony Chavers and Elmer “Chick” Cockrell; and 1 sister, Willa Mae Southern. Surviving him in death are 5 sons, Mike Fowler and wife Michelle of Dewar, OK; Jimmy Fowler of Del City, OK; Joe B. Fowler III and wife Linda of Checotah, OK; Floyd W. Fowler and wife Ann of Huntsville, TX; and Melvin C. “Peanut” Fowler and wife Dee of Temple, TX; 1 daughter, Kathy Northcross and husband Phillip of Okmulgee, OK; 2 step-daughters, Mary Myers of Dallas, TX; Janice Carr and husband Ron of Channelview, TX; 2 step-sons, Dwayne Chavers and Ashley of Corrigan, TX, Steve Chavers of Corrigan, TX; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Spencer, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Arlington memory Gardens in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Northeast. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
