Jordan Hollingsworth, 73 year-old resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away December 10, 2014 at his home. He was born June 2, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Jordan Marcus Hollingsworth, Sr. and Irene (Hanson) Hollingsworth. He attended high school in Mount Vernon, NY. He joined the Air Force in 1960 where he proudly served his country for 22 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. He went on and received an Associate Degree in Science from Rose State College; his Bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Oklahoma; his Master’s Degree in Educations for the University of Central Oklahoma; and his Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from Canbourne University. He married Joni (Wilson) Hollingsworth on April 29, 1993. Jordan’s passion was basketball. He was a Mason. Jordan coached basketball at Star Spencer, NE Classen, and Noble High Schools; and was a member of the following basketball organizations, OSSAA Official; The Lighthouse; Norman Optimist Club; and AAU basketball. He was well known for his coaching and his work as a referee all over the state of Oklahoma. Jordan was the head basketball referee for NOC and Southwest Community College. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Joni of the home; 2 sons, Rick Hollingsworth and his wife of Ft. Dix, NJ; and Casey and his wife Crystal Wilson of Moore, OK; 3 daughters, Yvette Hollingsworth and her fiance Biff Clark of San Francisco, CA; Kendra Hollingsworth of Dallas, TX; and Stephanie O’Daniel and her husband Heath of Maud, OK; 12 grandchildren; and his beloved “Papa’s boy”, a pet Pug named “Tank”. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., OKC with inurnment following full Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force Honors Detail at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK at 3:00 p.m.
