Johnie L. Shipley, 80, of Midwest City, OK passed away July 20, 2014. She was born Aug. 24, 1933 in Purdon, TX to Luther and Jeanette Tanner. She graduated from Barry High School, in Barry, TX. Johnie married the love of her life, Montrel Shipley, in 1951 and they went on to spend the next 63 years together living in many far off areas and foreign countries, such as Spain and Germany, as well as many states in the US as Monte served in the Air Force before retiring. During those years, they had four sons and Johnie lovingly cared for her family. Johnie enjoyed traveling with Monte after his retirement. Johnie loved her family and her God. She had a deep rooted faith that she held dear her whole life. Johnie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Monte Shipley; 4 sons, Dan and his wife Sheila, David and fiancé Debbie, Ron and wife Linda, Randy and wife Dawn; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Erica, Mike, Ryan, Jared, Andrew; 6 great grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Brandon, Kialee, Jacob and Delaney; and one brother, William Tanner and wife Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Brian, brother L.V. Tanner and sister Bobbie Spencer. Private family funeral services will take place at a later date.
