John C. Hope Jr. of Oklahoma City passed away March 31, 2016 after a lengthy illness. John was born September 13, 1932 in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Classen High School in 1950 and then went to the University of Oklahoma where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. John obtained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy, serving a total of 33 years on active and reserve duty. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America most of his life after obtaining his Eagle Scout at a very young age. John was President and Owner of Oklahoma Infrared until his death. He loved his time with the Shriners serving as Potentate in 1974 and was a member of the Royal Order of the Jesters. John enjoyed travelling, gardening, his home at Lake Texoma and especially his family. John was preceded in death by his parents John C. Hope, Sr. and Miriam Cotter Hope. John is survived by his wife Marion, daughters Dana Chism and Heidi Vanlandingham, grandson John-Michael Vanlandingham, brother Robert and his wife, Lucy. He is also survived by son-in-law Mark Chism, sister in law, Vicky Hancock, one niece, three nephews and numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, April 4, 2016 at All Soul’s Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City. Friends may visit at Hahn Cook, North Broadway Extension from 8:00am to 5:00pm Sunday, April 3, 2016.
