John Wesley Forrester

John Wesley Forrester, 78, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 20, 2023. John was born on June 28, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas, to Harold and Lucille Jones Forrester. John attended Midwest City schools, graduating in 1963, and going on to attend the University of Oklahoma and later completing his education and graduating from Central State College with degrees in music and business. He then moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he taught music, and later returned to Midwest City and began his career at Tinker AFB, working there until his retirement.

In 1980 John married the love of his life, Dr. Marlys Easton, who was a practicing veterinarian in Midwest City. John and his family were long time members of 1st Baptist Church, and that's where John and Maryls met. After marriage they continued being active at the church and both participated in the orchestra for many years. John was well known for his sense of humor and was always ready with a joke to tell.

Harold and Lucille were blessed with four children, Eldon, Richard who died in infancy, John and Diane. Theirs was a happy Christian home where they enjoyed growing up together. John was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys, his parents, and his brothers Richard and Eldon. He is survived by his sister, Diane Acree and husband Hal; sister-in-law, Linda Forrester; nieces, Shelley Moore and husband Joe, Jennifer Forrester and partner Jenna Jeffords, Casey Denton and husband Chris; nephew, Michael Acree. He's also survived by great nephews, Calvin and Josh Moore, Aiden and Jackson Denton and great nieces Kendall Denton, Peyton and Jordyn Moore.

A visitation for John will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Midwest City, 705 E. Rickenbacker Drive, Midwest City, OK 73110.
