Joe Neil Wham

J. Neil Wham was born July 10, 1920 and passed from this world on July 20, 2016 at 96 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Pallie Wham, 9 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 daughter and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife Betty of 44 years, 1 stepdaughter Elynn Wagner, 1 stepson Rodney Thomas, 1 grandson Phillip McCarthey, 3 granddaughters Heather McCarthey, Lacey Spangler and Dena Hill and 12 great grandchildren as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He served in the Army during World War II and he worked in the oil field from 1938 to 1957. He then moved into repairing Heavy Road Equipment until 1970. Neil retired in 1982 after being self-employed for the last 12 years of his career. He always said that he enjoyed every moment of retirement. He loved camping with his Shriner buddies, Betty and his grandchildren. He could often be found listening to country music legends, playing his guitar and singing. Memorial donations may be made to Forest Hill Christian Church located at 2200 N. MacArthur OKC, OK. Viewing will be held Friday July 22nd from 4-8pm and services will be held on Saturday July 23rd at 1pm at Guardian Funeral Home located at 5820 N.W. 41st OKC, OK.
