Joe Bob Murry was born August 29, 1934 in Ada, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lucy Murry; the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Crawford; his beloved mother-in-law, Zella Crawford; three brothers: Leon, Walter Jr, and Charles; two sisters: Annetta Geirhard and Ruth Ann Parmeter and countless friends. He is survived by his best friend and son, Randy Murry; daughter Vicky, who cherished him and her husband, Chuck Zegrati; his granddaughter Parissa, who he taught his love of animals to; his grandson Cody, who he shared his love of tinkering with old clunkers; his great-granddaughter Mina, who he had a tender heart and soft spot for; his great-grandson Jonas, who he taught honest life lessons to, his thoughtful niece, Judy of Denver, Co; his companion dog, Dozer and his good friend, Alberta Hill. Joe was a 32 degree Mason and a reserve deputy with Oklahoma County Sheriff‘s Department. He worked for over 35 years at Fleming Foods and was a teamster; he also raised cattle and farmed with his son Randy for years. Joe was a licensed electrician, mechanically inclined and was raised to be a self-sufficient jack of all trades. He knew a little bit about everything. Joe was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and was a fun dad and grandfather. Joe loved to play games, including dominoes, monopoly and wahoo with his family and he taught us how to play baseball, basketball and ride bicycles. He was a hard worker and his fun was working and tinkering. He was a survivor of the great depression. Joe worked hard to provide for his family a good life, and teach us about honesty and fairness and most of all love for your family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, 1-16-2016 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial to follow at Jones IOOF Cemetery.
