Mottie Joseph “Joe” Judd passed from this life on June 26, 2019. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City. A memorial service honoring his life will take place at 10am on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the funeral home.
Joe was born on October 4, 1930 on the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, LA to William and Irene (Trayal) Judd. He proudly joined the United States Army and while in the Army, he finished his schooling, and became a military policeman during his service. He was patriotic and very proud of his service to his country, and retired from the military with 100% disability. In May of 1974, Joe met Judy Marie Dawson and the two were married in December of that same year. They spent 44 wonderful years as husband and wife until Joe’s passing.
Joe was a sheet metal worker, then went to work for Oklahoma State Labor Department as an inspector. He then went to work for Oklahoma City public schools and worked as a safety inspector until his retirement. Joe was a member of the Del City Masonic Lodge and he and Judy attended Oakcrest Church of Christ until his health would no longer allow.
Joe enjoyed New Orleans and particularly the Mississippi river because he was born and raised there. He also loved music, especially Charley Pride, Bobby Bare and Don Williams, and was known to walk around the house singing to Judy. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: William and Irene (Trayal) Judd and a son, James Judd.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy (Dawson) Judd; children: JoAnn Flowers, Paula McReynolds, Debbie Hall, and Don Weber; 3 sisters: Carol Lee Blackmon, Hazel Prochazka, and Karla Judd; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren.
