On November 18, 1950, Jo married the love of her life, Frank D. Robinson, Jr. (who preceded her in death on October 7, 2009). Married 58 glorious years, they had a storybook beginning as classmates in the 8th grade at Taft Junior High School. Following her freshman year at Monticello in St. Louis, her sophomore year at Holland Hall in Tulsa, OK, she and Frank graduated in 1948 from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, where she was recognized as Football Queen her senior year. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Frank served his country as Captain in the U.S. Air Force in Albany, GA before they established their home in Oklahoma City for fifteen years followed by eight years in Minneapolis, MN through Frank’s successful business career with General Mills and later with Wendt Food Brokers in Oklahoma City.
A devoted, loving wife and mother, Jo will be remembered for her incredible love for her entire family. Her life priorities were her faith in Christ, family, and friends. She was the matriarch of her family and had no greater joy than hosting innumerable family times. She was a prayer warrior and prayed every morning for her family by name and faithfully served Christ. Gifted with a tremendous, positive outlook on life, she consistently maintained a wonderful, joy-filled heart. A faithful church member throughout her life, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Edmond and for many years at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City. Together with her husband, Frank, they were longtime volunteers for The Jesus Film Project of Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) and were instrumental in the induction of Dr. Bill Bright, Founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. They also served as Associate Staff for Campus Crusade for Christ from 1994-2003 in Oklahoma City. In 2008, they initiated and led a project to provide the Jesus Film, The Story of Jesus for Children DVD, to every child who attended Vacation Bible School at Crossings Community Church. On May 7, 2009, Jo and Frank and their family were recognized as the 2009 "Oklahoma Family of the Year" on the floor of the House of Representatives at the State Capitol by the Oklahoma Family Policy Council.
