Jessie had four children with her previous husband, James Hunter. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her home and her flowers, but most of all, her dog, Star.
She worked for 15 years at Old Paris Flea Market selling leather goods.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husbands, Major James Hunter and Bill Martin; her parents; two brothers, Floyd, and Monroe Bessent; three sisters, Jackie McDaniel, Opal Long, and Eldo Spradlin; half-brother, Robert Bessent; one son, John Castle; and one granddaughter, Yvonne Hiers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Deloris Burel of Oklahoma City, Phyllis and Crig Grissom of Lehigh Acres, FL; one son, Terry and his wife Debra Hunter of Moore, OK; 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Angie, Matthew, Carrie, Crystal, and Jessica; 9 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Richardson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Jessie was very proud that all of her sons were military veterans.
A visitation for Jessie will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
