Jesse Jerome Stewart Jr., 86, passed away Wednesday March 14th, 2012. He was born April 7th, 1925 in Porum, Oklahoma to Jesse J. Stewart Sr. and Maggie Mae Duncan Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings William (Bill), Flora, Lawrence, Leonard, Loretta, Esther, Lillian, Weldon, Marvin, and Armon; great grandson Declan Stewart; and the love of his life, Lillian Alvina Kratky Stewart.
Jesse and Lillian were married June 5, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas and sharing 61 wonderful years together before her passing in 2008. Jesse is survived by his sons, Jesse Stewart, James Stewart and his wife, Diane, Jerry Stewart and his wife, Yvonne; his sisters Pauline and Francis; his Grandchildren Janet, Jennifer, James, Meagan and Andrew Stewart; Brian and Christen Sigman; Great Grandchildren Nicholas and Brooklynn, Jesse, Madison and Dylan, as well as hundreds of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jesse worked for 33 years as a Civil Engineer at Tinker Air force Base and 11 years afterwards at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. He served in the Army with the 594th joint assault signal company in WWII as a Field Lineman and Rifle Sharpshooter, serving in the South Pacific, and received several medals. He loved his family, camping and being a mechanic but his leading passion was golf, having won numerous trophies, awards and accolades during his 60 years of tournament play. He was proud of his Cherokee and Scottish Heritage and also was a member of Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oklahoma City. Jesse was a humble, proud, kindhearted, strong, patient being and will be dearly missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
