Jerry Floyd Ketchum, 73, of Oklahoma City passed from this life on December 2, 2021. He was born on January 5, 1948 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Floyd and Virginia Lea (Middleton) Ketchum. Jerry worked as a shipping clerk at KF Industries, from which he retired. In 1994 he married the love of his life, Doska Ketchum. Jerry and Doska spent 26 wonderful years together.
He was a devoted member of the VFW Post 9265. Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the 25th Infantry Division of the United States Army, and was a Survivor of the 1968 TET Offensive. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. In addition to his loyalty to his Country, Jerry loved riding motorcycles. He was a member of Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 10-1, American Legion Riders Post 1340, and a lifetime member of Downed Bikers Association OKC. Jerry was known by his nickname “Incoming” by his fellow veterans and riding buddies. He was a true friend, always kind, and gave freely when anyone was in need.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Doska, his sisters, Patricia Ketchum Roberts and Julie Lea Ketchum, and brothers, Benny Michael Ketchum and Richard Wayne Ketchum.
Come-and-go visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Advantage Funeral Home, 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Oklahoma City, OK 73159. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jerry will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow to Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
