It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Jason Thomas Mullen in Oklahoma City on June 23, 2023. Jason was born in Oklahoma City on May 5, 1999, growing up in the Edgemere Heights neighborhood and walking to Westminster School.
Jason was a creative child who wrote and illustrated stories with his “Grandma Peggy.” He was blessed with musical talent, learning to play multiple instruments over the years including the guitar, violin and bass. Jason exhibited those musical gifts as a member of the Bishop McGuinness High School Band and orchestra. He was also an avid video game player and a Dungeons and Dragons Game Master.
After graduating from Bishop McGuinness High School in 2017, Jason took an interest in the culinary arts and worked at several restaurants in the Oklahoma City area. He particularly loved cooking for his family and often spent Sunday evenings creating special meals for his parents, Jo Lynne and Tom. Jason’s pizza making skills were met with rave reviews.
Jason is survived by his parents, Jo Lynne Jones and Tom Mullen; brother Jonathan Mullen; his maternal grandparents, Peggy and Michael Kerr and Lyndol and Leah Jones. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Will Rogers Theater at 4322 N. Western, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jason’s name to Oklahoma City Ballet.
