

Nadine was born on October 22, 1933, to Herschel and Dorthea Dikeman Baldwin of Oologah, Oklahoma. She was their first born followed by sisters Maxine Doshier, Carole Hersch and her closest sibling, brother Bill Baldwin. She graduated from Oologah High School and went to business college before finding her calling at St.John's Nursing School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She met Homer on a blind date and quickly knew he was the one. They married in a double wedding ceremony with Homer's brother Joe and his bride Beverly on February 2nd, 1957 Their union was blessed by four children, Ed, Jan, Joan and Tom.
After moving to Oklahoma City in 1971 due to Homer's job, Nadine hired on and enjoyed working at Baptist Hospital later Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City on the post Coronary Care 5 East floor for almost 30 years. She always considered it the privilege of her career caring for the patient who received the first heart transplant in Oklahoma. Nursing was a great passion for Nadine. She was thrilled to have her granddaughter Hunter Carter recently follow in her footsteps as a Registered Nurse. She also worked as an on call charter flying transport nurse for several years, an exciting side job she enjoyed even before the current gig economy trend. Nadine retired early from nursing to care for Homer who after kidney failure was blessed to receive a kidney transplant from his sister Alice Webb 26 years before his passing, an undisputed testament to Nadine's fine nursing skill. She loved quilting, knitting, sewing, china painting and fixing fabulous Sunday brunches for her children, grands and great grandchildren.
Nadine is preceded in death by Homer, her three siblings - Maxine, Carole and Bill, and her granddaughter Katrina Larson. She is survived by her devoted oldest son Edward Joe and wife Cheryl of Meeker, OK,, Janice Lee and husband Tony Pack, of Wetumka, Joan Lynn and husband Dr.Gary Larson of OKC, and Thomas Neal and wife Kelli Carter also of OKC. Beloved extended family include Homer's surviving brother Joe Carter Sr.,and wife Michelle, and their sister Alice Ruth Webb VonAhlefeld and husband Tom. She is survived by grandchildren Molly Edwards (Nathaniel), Sydney Meza (Jacob), Quincy Larson (Jade), Lukas Larson (Jessica), Logan Larson (Rebecca), Trevor Larson, Riley Mendenhall (Payton), and Hunter Carter. Her Great granddaughters are Kennedy, Reagan and Madison Edwards, Enri Mesa as well as Genevieve Larson, Jocelyn Chen-Larson, and Elora Mendenhall. Her Great grandsons are Gage Chavonic, JJ Meza, and Quentin Chen-Larson. She is beloved by scores of nieces, nephews, and cousins whose lives she touched and relationships she also enjoyed.
