James Darian Prough, age 52 passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Baptist (Integris) Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. James (Jim) was born on September 21, 1966, to James T. and Della Prough in Weatherford, OK. He was a graduate of Gotebo High School and attended Southwestern State College where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance. He became a truck parts and equipment salesperson for several different companies. He even spent some time in the oil field. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed being at the lake with family and friends. He liked hunting, especially turkey. Jim was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge of Oklahoma City. Above all of his time spent on hobbies, he cherished his moments with his kids and wife, Kathy, the most. Jim and Kathy were the first couple married at the Oklahoma State Capital after 9/11 on January 22, 2005 and they spent 14 wonderful years together before his passing.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Allen Prough and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. and Evella Prough and Mr. and Mrs. B.C. and M.E. Page. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Kathy Prough of Edmond, OK; children, Brayden J. Prough and fiancé Jill Haworth of Chicago, IL, Kaleb C. Prough and Lindsey Belcher of Tacoma, WA, Maddie F. Prough of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lauren C. Hull and husband, Justin of Oklahoma City, OK; and parents, Della Prough of Oklahoma City, OK, James T. and wife Linda Prough of Gotebo, OK. He is also survived by sister, Amy E. Prough-Fooshee and husband, Eric of Edmond, OK; two grandchildren, Renner J. Hull and Callan W. Hull of Oklahoma City, OK; and two nieces, Aubrey G. Fooshee and Ellie H. Fooshee of Edmond, OK.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A funeral service will be held in honor of Jim on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 N.W. 164th St., Edmond, OK 73013.
