Dr. James (Jim) Fulton Freeman passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 after living a full and joyful life. Born September 22, 1932, to John Fuller Freeman and Anna Mae Freeman, he was raised in Oklahoma City and attended Classen High School. He continued his education at Kemper Military School and Central State University. Jim met his wife, Dolores, in Oklahoma City. They later married and raised 4 children. He was accepted into the Kansas City Dental School where he graduated in 1962. After practicing dentistry for a few years, Jim’s career took several different paths over the years including owning a furniture business, vice president at Broyhill Furniture, owning a brick manufacturing company, and finishing his career in the construction industry. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Although he lived in Oklahoma most of his life, he made Colorado his 2nd home where he could spend time doing the things he loved outdoors. Jim’s hobbies included showing horses and collecting guns. Jim was a big OU fan and especially loved OU softball.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Freeman; his parents, brothers William Freeman and Tom Freeman and sister Mary June Duskin; son James Fulton Freeman, Jr., daughter Debra Lee Miller and son-in-law Gordon Thomas. He is survived by his brother, John Freeman and wife Jean; daughter Sheree Jean Thomas and son John Robert “Bob” Freeman and wife Diana; and son-in-law Michael Lee Miller. Also, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at Rose Hill Memorial Park on Friday, October 18th at 10:30 AM.
