James M. Dickinson Sr., 74, passed away on March 21, 2016. James was born on December 2, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Eldrid and Nora Bell (Fox) Dickinson. James was a huge baseball fan although his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and Texas Ranger. He enjoyed spending time outside whether it was mowing the yard or keeping a spotless car; but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandbabies. James was an avid member of the American Legion Post 170 in Midwest City, OK. James is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robbie Dickinson; sister, Pat; and brothers, Bob and Donnie Dickinson. Survivors include his loving wife, Verna (Henderson) Dickinson; children, James M. Dickinson Jr. and wife Penny, and Bobby Dickinson; grandchildren, James M. Dickinson III and wife Heather, Dylan Dickinson, Teddy Webb and husband Jon, Zane Dickinson and significant other, Neka Schultz, Jeffrey Dickinson, Tanner Dickinson, Nathan Dickinson and Brad Powell; great-grandchildren, Cohwyn, Hunter, and Fisher; sisters, Betty Thurman and Judy Burke; and many other friends and family who will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank James’ niece, Bev Cooley,Julie Dickinson and Adrian for their loving care during his recent illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2016 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
