Al left his earthly home on Friday, May 6, 2011 to join his wife Sybil to walk the golden streets of Heaven. Al was the sixth child of A.F. and Matty Lou Ayers. Born in Oil Hill, Kansas and raised on the "Red Hill" in Seminole, OK. Graduating from Wolf High School in 1940 he married Sybil Jane Winters and then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a civil engineer at T.A.F.B. for 42 years. Upon retirement he continued to work as the business manager for Local B60, later establishing his own business, "Three Star Admissions". His interests were varied to include sports (especially OU football), bird watching, home repair, following local and national politics, and a great lover of animals. Al had been a member of the Masonic Order for 56 years as well as being a Shriner. He was a devoted husband enjoying 50 years of marriage to Sybil Jane, who preceded him in death as well as his parents, sisters Nerine, Noma and Rebecca; brothers Wilber, Bob and Pete Ayers. Survived by daughters, Debra Askins and husband James, Yvonne Albers and husband Denny, and Nancy "Gene" Ayers of the home. His extended family includes granddaughters Lori Walker and husband Brian, Jami West, Heather Royal and husband Darrell, also grandson Travis Hamilton and wife Beth, 9 great grandchildren, Thomas and Tobey Walker, Georgia and Canon West, Paige, Anabeth and Matthew Hamilton and Meghan and Mason Royal. Also survived by sister-in-law Louise Ayers and numerous nieces and nephews. As the patriarch of the "Ayers" clan he loved having his family all together. The family would like to acknowledge the following people who made it possible for "Al" to remain in his home during his final days: Geraldine Odenheimer, MD, Tris Palmerly, P.A., and his "girls", Pinky, Marie, Choctaw, Tammy, January and Kayla.
