Jack Allen Jones was born on June 11, 1945 and passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017. He was born In Navasota, Texas and grew up in the Houston area before moving to Chickasha, OK in 1979. Jack was the youngest of five children of Nona Lowe and James Robert Jones and is preceded in death by two brothers.
Jack attended the University of Houston and received a Master’s in Music. During this time he converted to Catholicism and met Jane Rex to whom he has been married for 45 years. Jack has always said marrying Jane was the best decision he ever made.
Jack and Jane were blessed with two children: Susan Marie, 1975, and Michael Andrew, 1978, one daughter-in-law, Loni Jones, and four grandchildren: Brigetta Joan, Carl David, Easton Michael, and Ellison Nicole. Emery Grace is due in September.
Jack taught band and choir for Chickasha Public Schools before teaching classical guitar at Classen School of Advanced Studies in Oklahoma City. For nineteen years, Jack was the minister of sacred music at Holy Name Parish in Chickasha. Jack retired from music education at the age of 62 and soon thereafter, Jack and Jane moved to Mustang, OK, to be near their loving family.
Jack is survived by his wife Jane, his two children, his daughter-in-law, and precious grandchildren. Jack also leaves behind an extended family, numerous Laflin relatives, and many incredible friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Mount Saint Mary High School Cornerstone Inclusion program.
