Jack Douglas Hobbs

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Jean Hobbs. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Susan; 3 children: Sean (Mindy) Hobbs, Stacey (Chris) Lemanski, and Carrie (Chris) Arnold; 8 grandchildren; and 3 sisters: Barbara (Roger) Smith, Joan (Gary) Welch, and Karen (Jon) Bryant.

Jack was born in Corvallis, Oregon and spent the majority of his life in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Classen High School in 1961 where he played football, ran track, and set several state records.

Upon graduation, Jack enrolled at his beloved University of Oklahoma where he pledged Sigma Chi fraternity. Sigma Chi was an integral part of Jack’s life where he made many life-long friends.

Jack served in the National Guard, was a master salesman, and was such a people person that upon retirement, he continued to work.

Jack enjoyed watching OU play every Fall Saturday, and even coined the “Sooner Strut” - a dance move faithfully taught to his children (He claimed it helped the Sooners win).

Services will be held at Memorial Park 13313 N Kelley (located on the West side of Kelley) Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10 A.M.
