Iona Wells, age 89, of Oklahoma City passed away October 14, 2012. She was born in Fox, AR on August 11, 1923 to Claude and Addie Perry. Iona had worked in the Millwood school system as a cook for 28 years. Iona was an excellent cook, but her forte was baking with her specialty being pineapple cream pie. She also was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge and vast reading preference ranging from Danielle Steel to William Shakespeare. She was a lady of many talents ranging from wallpapering, upholstery, knitting, crocheting, flowers and gardening. Most of all was her abiding love for her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel (Buck) Wells; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Ethel Wells; her parents; two sisters: Nona Delozier and Wanda Gregory; two brothers: Bob Perry and Bill Perry; brother-in-law, Wayne Wells; sisters-in-law: Wilma Turner, Dorothy Butler, Erma Greer and Elda Sheckels. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Parker and husband Don of OKC; one loving brother, J.C. Perry and Mary Ann of Del City whose help during this difficult time has been immeasurable; one caring brother-in-law, C. L. Wells of OKC; sister-in-law Perralynne Perry; many nieces, nephews, and other family members and a special cousin, Doris Tindall. Special friends: Joyce Bryan and Carol Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Midwest City. Family will receive friends at a catered reception at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home immediately following services.
