Hazel Irene Jenkins was born on March 28, 1935 in Whitesboro Oklahoma to John and Ruth Morris. On June 6, 1953, at the age of 18, she married Bill Jenkins and moved to Choctaw, Oklahoma where they would eventually raise five daughters.
Shortly after moving to Choctaw, Hazel became a member of the 1st Baptist church of Choctaw, where she remained a member for approximately 57 years. During the early years she was in charge of the church nursery during services, which she took great pride looking after the babies.
In addition to being a member, she was also employed at the 1st Baptist Daycare where she retired after 30 years. Hazel is survived by her five daughters, nine grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, four siblings and her loving husband Bill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow that afternoon in Damon Valley Cemetery, Damon, Oklahoma.
