Harry J. Dell, PE, was a Christian, and he thanked God every day for blessing him with his beautiful wife, Joy. All the Glory, Honor, and Praise belongs to God for enabling any accomplishments. Harry prays that all members of his family will be followers of Jesus Christ, trust God – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and do Good. Then they will receive health, prosperity, and eternal life. It was his desire to spend eternity in Heaven with his family members. Harry was born on September 12, 1933, in the Bronx in New York City and was raised in Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served in Korea during the Korean War. Harry was honorably discharged with the opportunity to attend Officer’s Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia, for a six-year reenlistment. He decided not to reenlist. Harry attended the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, he successfully passed the eight-hour engineer-in-training examination. Four years later, Harry successfully passed the professional engineer examination in mechanical engineering, and he was licensed by law to practice mechanical engineering. He was a life member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and a life member of the Nation Society of Professional Engineers. Harry was also the past commandant and life member of the Marine Corps League, Sooner Detachment 559. He was chief engineer in industry and chief engineer in the Federal Civil Service. There are six regular patents and two design patents in Harry’s name and assigned to AMP Inc. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Harry retired from the Federal Civil Service and received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service with a medal at the retirement ceremony.

Harry is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Terri Skinner, Harry “Buzz” Dell, Lori Steinberg, and Lisa Miley; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Shoeman; grandchildren, Jenny Shaw, Nathan Shaw, Sam Shaw, Rachel Haas, Joshua Dell, Erin Hendrickson, Paeten Story, and Bode Story.
Harry is preceded in death by his mother and father, Catherine Dell and John W. Dell; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Dell; and a grandchild, Heather Dell.
A visitation for Harry will be from 4-6 pm on Tuesday, May, 7th, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave, OKC, OK. Services will be at 10 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Capitol Hill Assembly of God located at 2400 W. I-240 Service Rd, OKC, OK with interment to follow at 1 pm at Ft. Sill National Cemetery located in Elgin, Oklahoma.
