Goldie Mae Kimmel was born on February 21, 1920 in Wellston, Oklahoma to Harry and Willie (Keener) Eckles. She passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on September 6, 2013. Goldie was a devout Catholic and loved her church. Goldie joined the Army as a WAC on August 30, 1943 and was a Tobuleting Machine Operator. She received an Honorable Discharge January 31, 1946, at the time she was a Sergeant. Goldie started Nurses training after her discharge from the Army, and while nursing met her husband. Goldie married L. Weldon Kimmel on March 15, 1962. To this union two sons were born, David and Paul. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband Weldon, son David, sister Geraldine, brother Ucal and infant sister. She is survived by son Paul, wife Marla and Granddaughter Jessica. A Rosary will be held 5:00pm, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Friday, September 13, 2013 at Our lady of Perpetual Help Church 3214 Lake Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73118 with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
