Gloria Lea Stone

Gloria Stone passed away November 15, 2017 at the age of 81. She was born January 2, 1936 in Oklahoma City to the late John Thomas and Gladys Jones Robertson. Eva Jones, Gloria’s maternal grandmother, raised Gloria and her sisters Doris and Gladys. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City and was a very active member of The First Baptist Church of Bethany. She and her late husband, J.D. Stone, were active in square dancing for many years and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, and the love of her life, J.D.; as well as sisters, Doris Lackey and Gladys Clifton. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Murray and husband, Don and her son, Darrel Stone, 2 half-brothers, Charles Robertson and wife, Pat and Gary Robertson and wife, Carol and half-sister, Alice Harris and husband, James. She has five grandchildren, Shonda Walkup, Dustin Murray, Tony Murray, John Stone, and Mieka Stoneking, 11 great-grandchildren, Alex and Sophia Walkup, Jordan, Jonathan and Spencer Murray, Dayla and Anthony Bauer and Kiersten Murray, Ryder Stone, Nathan and Ewan Stoneking, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of many family and friends. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Bethany on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Brother Charlie Womack officiating.
