Glenda Kay Harrison, 78, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on May 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen R. and Alleene M. Eaves, and her son, Tyson G. Harrison, all of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Harrison, sister, Mary Fraley, both of Oklahoma City; as well as her grandchildren, Amanda Harrison and Tyson G. Harrison, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by her niece, Corby Verdoorn and husband Jay, of Plano, TX, and nephew, Thomas H. Fraley, III and wife, Cheryl, of Oklahoma City, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren and great nieces, and nephews.
Kay grew up working in her family’s famous steakhouse, Glen’s Hik’ry Inn on NW 10th and May in Oklahoma City. She started as a hat-check girl and later as an adult became general manager until 1984. She enjoyed a long career in food service management. Later Kay joined the State of Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services helping blind individual’s set-up their own businesses throughout the state until she retired in 2008.
Kay was a devout Catholic and was a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church and Caritas Christi. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
A private service for her family will be held on May 7, 2020 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors.
