Gladys Lorine Paulk, 92 year-old resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away April 2, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born November 19, 1924 in Gracemont, Oklahoma, Gladys was the daughter of Wesley J. White and Norma Viola Phillips White. She was the oldest of eight; Gladys, Mildred (died as a baby), Ruby, Neva Jo, Edward, Melvin, and the twins Larry and Jerry. After the girls were born, they moved from Gracemont OK to Scott OK where the older boys, Ed and Melvin were born. This is the farm that the older children were raised on. Gladys dedicated her life to the Lord at the early age of 12 and was a member of Millwood Baptist Church much of her adult life. At age 13, she started attending East Walnut school; this is where the White and Paulk families met and became good friends. During her Junior year of high school Gladys dad moved the family to Coweta Oklahoma. This is where Gladys graduated high school and where the twins, Larry and Jerry were born. She started her college education the summer after high school by attending North Eastern State College in Tahlequah OK. Her friend from the East Walnut school days, Ed Paulk came and swept her away after he was discharged from the Navy. Gladys and Ed were married December 24th, 1944. She helped her husband Ed many years with the Boy Scout Troops he was an adult leader in. Gladys was a Scouters wife and helped many boys earn their Eagle Scout Award including Deral and Mike. She was preceded in death by her baby sister Mildred, her parents, her husband of 55 ½ years Edward Deral Paulk, Sr., and several siblings. Gladys was a homemaker and family was the most important thing in her life. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds; genealogical research; and organizing family picture albums. Survivors include 2 sons, Edward Deral Paulk, Jr. of Paducah, Kentucky; and Michael Paulk and his wife Linda of Edmond, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Shane Paulk and his wife Toni; and Karla Paulk; 2 great-grandsons, Nicholai and Josiah (JoJo); 2 brothers, Ed White of Fletcher, Oklahoma; and Jerry White of California; 2 sisters, Ruby Pennel of Cement, Oklahoma; and Neva Jo Miller of Ramona, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at Geary Cemetery, Geary, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2017 at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, 1200 E.
