Geraldine Morgan 93, of Midwest City entered eternal rest Friday, May 24, 2013. Geraldine was born May 13, 1920 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma to John and Marie (Dean) Haley. As a young child she moved numerous times as the family searched for work during tough times. Much of her early years were spent with her grandmother who taught her a love of gardening and a love of God’s good earth; for which she cherished throughout her life. During her teen years she attended and graduated from Holdenville High School. It was there that she found the love of her life; Gay Morgan and they were married on February 14, 1945. To this marriage they were blessed with two sons; John and David. In 1948 she and her husband became members of First Christian Church of Midwest City. Here Geraldine became involved in many different opportunities at the church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Study Chairmen, Group Leader, Christian Women’s Fellowship President, and Financial Secretary. These were just the official jobs she had around the church. She also took care of the small many times unnoticed things such as; cleaning up after meetings and church dinners, making coffee, locking up the building and setting the church alarm along with numerous other small but vital task. She referenced herself as the “This and That Employee.” Geraldine truly lived a life of devotion to Christ through her good works and actions. She was a true example to many and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her two sons; John Morgan and David Morgan; other family members and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the First Christian Church of Midwest City. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery. To leave the family condolences please visit www.eisenhourfuneralhome.com
