A life-long resident of Oklahoma City, Jerry graduated from John Marshall High School. He went on to serve his country joining the United States Army for 14 years. In the service, Jerry learned to work on the aircrafts and continued to work as an aircraft mechanic for the US government for most of his life.
While he never married or had children, he was very devoted to his granddaughter Christie and his great-grandchildren Jaylee and Caiden. They were his world and he taught them everything they needed to succeed in life. His great-grandkids helped fill his life with light and laughter, never missing a chance to goof off with them.
His siblings David Smith, Norman “Jimmy” James Smith, and Ruth Carrico precede Jerry in death.
To remember his legacy he leaves behind his granddaughter Christie Proaps, great-grandchildren Jaylee Lockridge and Caiden Lockridge, brother-in-law David Carrico and a large amount of nieces and nephews.
