Gerald Rex "Pops" Boyles was born on April 10th, 1926 to Chester C. & Maude E. (Hilyard) Boyles in Pawnee County, Oklahoma. He was the middle child of 5 boys. He served in the European Theatre of WWII and the Korean Theatre of the Korean war. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base, after a 32 year career, as an aircraft engine mechanic on B 52 bombers. He enjoyed many hobbies including working on and racing automobiles and motorcycles, and receiving many trophies for both. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Freeda E. (Green) Boyles, and three of his brothers, Lee, Jack Sr., and Charles Boyles, and many beloved others. He is survived by his wife of 22 yrs., Louise B. (King) Boyles, whom he married on May 3rd, 1996 in Gainsville, Cooke County, Texas, his brother Don W Boyles, brother-in-law Kenneth & his wife, Melodie Green, his son, Leroy G. Boyles, his stepdaughter Dela (King) & Dan Henke, Karen (King) & Hal Proctor, stepson Dennis & wife, Debbie King, his grandchildren Eric & Sara Boyles, Aaron & Andrea Boyles, his step-grandchildren , James Vickers, Matthew King , Michael King, Barbara Rowe, Jacob Rowe, his great grandchildren Blake, Camden,Tiara, Niklas, Alyssa, Brennan, and Brooklyn Boyles, his step-great-grandchild Chloe Vickers. Pops was an amazing man, he was handsome, hardworking, and loving. He lived a long, sometimes hard, life in his 92 years. Pops was a life-long member of the VFW and American Legion in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Also the Lions Club and the NRA. He was one of the few remaining men of the "Greatest Generation". Pops, a long time resident of Del City, passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2018 at Grace Living Center. He will always be loved and missed.
