Georgeanne Nilsen

Georgeanne “Porge” Nilsen, 86, died peacefully after a brief illness on September 16, 2010. She was born April 3, 1924 to the late Carl J. and Georgia O’Hornett. She was preceded in death by Carl, her beloved husband of 59 years and her brother Patrick J. O’Hornett. Georgeanne is survived by her children, Anne Kelly, Marcia Anderson and husband Lanny, Larry Nilsen and wife Carol; grandchildren, Laurie Anderson, Rachael Ferguson, Ryan Kelly, Drew Kelly, Christopher Nilsen, Nicole Nilsen; great grandchildren, Georgia Ferguson, Carl Ferguson, Owen Ferguson, Jack Ferguson, Cooper Anderson, Emersen Anderson; and her constant canine companion, Keeta. Georgeanne was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, needle pointing, golf, and entertaining, but spending time with family and friends brought her the most pleasure. She was kind, thoughtful and generous to everyone she knew. She lived her life with optimism, humor and grace. The family would also like the extend special thanks to Laurie Anderson, Doug Nesbitt, all the doctors and nurses for Georgeanne’s care throughout the years and the staff of Mercy Hospice during her final days. In accordance with Georgeanne's wishes there will be a private family graveside service. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
