Gene Walker, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Gene was the youngest of four, born on August 17, 1933 in Providence, RI, to Charles and Mary Walker. He married Marie Cardacino on January 4, 1953 and together they had Mary Ann (Sandy). On May 18, 1964, he married Madeleine Hebert and to this union, Suzanne Michelle was born. In 1974, Gene and Madeleine moved to Edmond, OK from Henrietta, NY. Gene proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He served as a member of the Logan County Sheriff's Posse for several years. Some of the places he worked during his career were Kodak, Xerox, Mercury Marine, and USPCI utilizing his engineering skills. He went on to be the owner of Walker Construction and served as general contractor of home construction and remodeling. He also owned Excellent Landscaping. Gene and Madeleine were very active in Quail Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by the love of his life, Madeleine, two daughters, Sandy (Jim) Guelich, Suzy (Doug) Barnes, and step-daughter, Jean Cloutier. Grandchildren Melissa Bedell, Madison Casper, and Taylor Casper. Niece Sandy (Kevin) Walker.
