Gene Leon Baker, 76 year-old resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away June 3, 2017 in Midwest City, Oklahoma, after a lengthy illness. Born May 24, 1941 in Elk City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Dale Baker and Lucille (Armstrong) Baker. Gene was a longtime truck driver. He loved quarter horses and rodeos and participated in rodeos as a heeler in team roping events at one time. Survivors include his wife, Mary Baker, of the home; 3 daughters, Peggy Branham of Midland, TX; Justine Baker of Idaho; and Crystal Seeley of Washington, OK; 7 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Peggy Willis. A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Trueway House of Prayer, 600 Oakview Dr., Midwest City, Oklahoma 73110.
