Gary Daniel Miller

The third child born to Daniel Ignatius and Genevieve (Pilecki) Miller, Gary was born in Buffalo, New York on September 18, 1959. He attended elementary and high school in Cheektowaga, New York. Once he graduated from high school, he entered into the US Air Force where he would spend his career.

During his time in the Air Force, he traveled to many places. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1980, then to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina in 1984, then to Gunther Air Force Base in Alabama in 1988, then to Stuttgart, Germany in 1993 where he would remain until retirement. After which, he moved back to Oklahoma City to enjoy his free time. While in the Air Force, Gary was also able to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Art with the high honor of Magna Cum Laude at Saint Leo University in 1987.

A perfect day for Gary would be waking up to make coffee and sit in his recliner to watch sports, he also loved to bake, and making cookies was his favorite pastime because he loved to ship them to his friends every holiday. He loved to listen to classical rock music and he liked every color there was, especially for shirts if they had witty puns or gnomes on them. Gary loved to laugh at dad jokes and gnomes.

Gary would want to be remembered as someone who was kind-hearted, caring, and straightforward. He was someone who would go out of his way to help anyone and was devoted to helping Veterans and Veteran families. He loved hosting parties to show off his cooking and baking skills, but most importantly he loved his son, Andrew. He taught Andrew to always be kind, to apologize for your mistakes, and passed on his love of computers and all things technology.

Gary most prized accomplishment was being in the US Air Force for 19 years and 10 months as an E7 Master Sergeant, and the Finance Officer for the American Legion Department of France, and Stuttgart, Germany Post 6.

Though Gary has passed, he will be remembered for his kind heart, and helping any and everyone in need, and his amazing baking skills.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Ignatius, and Genevieve Miller.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Miller of Arlington, VA, and his sisters Carol Hills of Lancaster, NY and Lynne Miller of Missouri, TX.

He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA
