Garry DeWayne Pate Sr.

Garry D. Pate, 68 year-old resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his home. Born February 11, 1943 in Hugo, Oklahoma, he was the son of Orval Curtis Pate and Maggie Viola McJimsey Goins. Garry was a barber, C.P.A., and Finance Manager while working at Tinker Air Force Base. He enjoyed reading; NASCAR racing; watching westerns; attending church; and spending time with the two “apples of His Eyes”, his two granddaughters. An avid reader of Dave Ramsey, he put into practice what Dave Ramsey advocated down to the last detail. Preceding him in death were his mother, Viola Goins and his step-father, Clifton Goins. Survivors include two sons, Garry DeWayne Pate, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; William Curtis Pate and his wife Peggy of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; his father, Orval Pate of Durant, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Meagan and Makynzie Pate, both of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Theresa Pate of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Clifton Cleoris Goins of Moore, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Grace Church, 1701 N. Westminster, Nicoma Park, OK with Pastor Steve Eden officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
